This committee had been our Election and Media Committee in 2007, when we produced a number of materials to help people bring up ODSP questions during the provincial campaign.  For 2008, the Committee has developed a strategy to make sure that people with disabilities get included in the province's Poverty Reduction Strategy.  We therefore revised the background materials on our key issues and developed a lobbying kit that anyone can use in meeting with politicinas or writing their own submissions.  Representatives of the Coalition participated in many of the invitation-only as well as the public consultations held in May and June.  The Coalition also had meetings with Minister Meilleur (Community and Social Services) and with Deb Matthews (chair of the Cabinet Poverty Reduction Committee).
