Meet with Your MPP about ODSP and the Social Assistance Review
Posted on Fri, 2012-01-20 19:01
The ODSP Action Coalition's Public Awareness and Advocacy Committee has created a new Lobby Kit to help our members and supporters talk with their local Member of Provincial Parliament about the adequacy of social assistance rates, and other issues coming up in the Review of Social Assistance. You can access the Lobby Kit here:

The Commission for the Review of Social Assistance in Ontario has released its second discussion paper, called "Approaches for Reform", found on the Commission's web site at www.socialassistancereview.ca. This discusses some of the Options that they are likely to propose to the government. They are only allowing comment until March 16, 2012. Before that date the Coalition will be sending out our own response to the options.
We want to make sure that MPP's hear from people with lived experience, and their families and people working with them, so that the MPP's understand the issues and are ready to respond when the Commission's report comes out. So we urge everyone to call your local MPP and arrange a meeting, and use the material provided to help you discuss the issues.
