ODSP Action Coalition is a province-wide, volunteer grassroots advocacy group led by people with lived experience of ODSP, with a network of valued allies including legal workers, disability & poverty related NGOs, policy experts, health care professionals and others who advocate for improvements to the income and other supports available to people with disabilities.
The coalition was formed in 2002 following province-wide community consultations that found serious problems with the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), on which many people with disabilities depend for their survival.
People on ODSP often face unfair stereotyping and discrimination as they (we) struggle to deal with physical and mental disabilities. Each person's situation is unique. What is shared is a life of poverty.
