The ODSP Action Coalition is a province-wide coalition led by people with disabilities on ODSP, with allies including community disability agencies, anti-poverty groups & individuals, legal workers, health care professionals, policy experts and other NGOs.
The coalition was formed in 2002 following province-wide community consultations that found serious problems with the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), on which many people with disabilities depend for their survival.
People on ODSP often face unfair stereotyping and discrimination as they (we) struggle to deal with physical and mental disabilities. Each person's situation is unique. What is shared is a life of poverty.
